Designing Better Retirement Solutions

Asset Management Forum

The purpose of this forum is to highlight the many challenges of planning and managing retirement for investors and provide ideas for improvements to retirement solutions.

In recent years, much interest has been devoted to the understanding of performance drivers in financial products and to the design of so-called smart-beta products. However, even before we consider adding more efficient financial products to the portfolio of the average investor, there are additional considerations that require our attention.

  • How much should be saved and how should savings be invested?
  • How can we better account for the uncertainty related to life expectancy?
  • How can we deal with the behavioral pitfalls of investors in the design of investment solutions and improve the prospects of future retirees?
