The 2022–2023 season is coming to a close, and we are brimming with enthusiasm for what’s to come in the year ahead.

This past year, the CFA Institute introduced a number of new initiatives to benefit candidates and members against an ever-changing landscape. The Data Science for Investment Professionals Certificate is one such initiative designed to help charterholders stay at the cutting edge of our industry. Enhancements were also made to the CFA program, including hands-on learning modules covering such topics as financial modelling. Access to the program is now available starting in the second-last year of an undergraduate degree. This is another positive change and one that we hope will encourage more young people to enter this field.

As an added incentive, the CFA Institute recently awarded five scholarships to candidates in our area. That’s in addition to the five that were presented in March through our own program here at CFA Montréal. Note that applications for the upcoming year will open in January 2024.

Supporting you and your career goals is important to us.

YOU, the candidates in our community, keep our ideas fresh and our insights sharp.

YOU are the future of our industry. Remember that as you navigate the challenging yet incredibly rewarding path ahead.

YOU and your peers who celebrated their new charterholder status with us in May will be the ones to lead our profession forward.

Your comments and suggestions encourage everyone here at CFA Montréal to keep bringing you exciting programs and events in line with the changing needs of our community. We are already looking forward to kicking off 2023–2024 with you. Your energy and passion are our inspiration.

We applaud your determination and wish you the best of luck as you pursue your studies. And we hope you can make a little room in your very busy schedule to soak up a few rays of sunshine this summer. You deserve it!
