A team from Concordia University advances to the next level of the Research Challenge!
Following the kickoff of the CFA Institute Research Challenge on November 23, the students from the competing teams of Montreal universities have spent weeks analyzing the financials of the subject company of this year’s contest, Tenet Fintech Group. They were able to discover the financial landscape of this young firm, whose objective is to provide SME entrepreneurs with the tools, resources, and services necessary to take their businesses to new heights and markets.
It was during the final of this year’s edition of the local competition organized jointly by CFA Montreal and CFA Quebec, which took place on February 15 at Espace CDPQ, that the teams were able to present the results of their analysis to a jury of experts. Among the two Concordia teams, that of McGill and that of HEC Montréal, it was the Concordia university collective, composed of Ioannis Bakopanos, Olivier Cloutier Faucher, Matthew MacNeil, Justin Rozon and Zi Hao Wei, who qualified to represent Quebec in the regional quarterfinals organized by the CFA Institute. Thanks to their teacher Sukyong Yang, CFA, and their mentor Naji Baydoun, CFA, for their support during this local final. We wish them the very best of luck, and we congratulate all those who took part in this informative and enlightening experience that every year brings together thousands of students from around the world.
