What the mentoring program entails

The CFA Montréal mentoring program represents a unique opportunity for participants to fast-track their professional and personal growth.

It pairs aspiring Montreal-based financial leaders who are CFA charterholders with seasoned industry professionals.

The careful pairing process is the reason behind the program’s success. Each profile is analyzed in detail to find the best possible mentor-mentee match and ensure a high level of compatibility.

The goal is to provide mentees with guidance from a trusted source, to help them develop new skills and to give them the tools to move forward along their career path.

The CFA Montréal Mentoring Program came at the right time in my career. My goal was to advance within my organization and I had the opportunity to meet a mentor with a wealth of experience. In addition to our open and sincere discussions, I came away from the program more confident in my skills and better equipped to take the next steps in my career, which I hope will flourish. I highly recommend this program to all young CFA members who wish to advance their career.

— Yohan Beaulieu, CFA, mentee

Through the CFA Montréal mentoring program, I had the privilege of working with a very bright and very driven young entrepreneur. Our discussions were incredibly thought-provoking on both a professional and a personal level. The mentor–mentee relationship is very much a two-way street, and I feel like I learned as much as she did. The trust between us blossomed over time, and this was in large part due to the tools made available to us as well as the opportunities we had to interact. As someone who has taken part in other mentoring programs, as both a mentor and a mentee, I have to congratulate CFA Montréal for having come up with a comprehensive approach that goes beyond matching up two people, with pre-mentoring training and check-ins at various points throughout the process. I’m convinced that this commitment to ensuring each and every mentee gets the best possible support from their mentor is why it all works so well. I for one am grateful for my mentee’s receptiveness and trust from the get-go.

Lucie Bourgeois, mentor

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some great people through the CFA Montréal mentoring program. Some mentees were eyeing a shift in their career, while others were looking for ways to have more pull in their organization. In both cases, the mentees I worked with found answers to their questions, and I had the privilege of helping them get the clarity they wanted. These experiences have been very satisfying for me personally. Thank you for making this fantastic program possible.
