That is exactly what J P Morgan said when he was asked about the role of gold in the financial system by a US congressional subcommittee in 1913.  We may soon come to realize they we have been imprudent to ignore gold as money or a global currency, if you will.  The US has by now irreparably abused its "exorbitant privilege" (as it was once called by Charles De Gaulle) of dollar hegemony (which was the result of Bretton Woods in 1944).  After years of irresponsible money creation, the global financial system is on the brink of collapse.  Throwing more money at the problem will not work forever.  There is no way to perpetuate a debt-based financial system in perpetuity.  “Rien ne se perd, rien ne se crée; tout se transforme.”  This presentation aims to debunk the myth that gold is a barbarous relic and that, instead, it is at the heart of the current transformation taking place and offers the best protection from the coming collapse.
